Warmer temperatures and the chance of rain showers will persist as the weekend approaches.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 44 degrees as of 5:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and overcast skies were reported.

Cloudy skies will gradually become mostly sunny today, and there will be a 30 percent chance of showers before 11 a.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and today’s high will be near 58.

Partly cloudy skies are expected tonight, along with some patchy fog after 3 a.m. The low will be around 45.

Patchy fog will persist before 8 a.m. on Thursday. Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for the remainder of the day, and the high will be near 64.

Mostly cloudy skies will follow into Thursday night, along with a 30 percent chance of showers. The low will be around 47.

Mostly cloudy skies, along with a 30 percent chance of showers, will round out the week on Friday. The high will be near 64.

Friday night will also bring mostly cloudy skies, as well as a 40 percent chance of showers. The low will be around 54.
