Anthony Bartoli, a Democrat from Laflin, is running for a seat on the Luzerne County Council.

Bartoli, 24, graduated from Coughlin High School in Wilkes-Barre and has a bachelor’s degree in communication studies with concentrations in public relations and rhetoric from Wilkes University.

He currently works in management at Enterprise Rent-a-Car and performs volunteer work with Zebra Communications, the student-run public relations agency at Wilkes.

Bartoli said he is concerned with the state of the county, both economically and socially. His announcement said he supports spending conservatively and treating everyone with “respect, dignity and equality.”

“I believe that everyone should be seen as equal in the eyes of any level of government,” he wrote. “I want to give every resident of Luzerne County an equal chance at success regardless of experience, education, or situation.”

Bartoli said he would donate his council salary if he is elected — half to county nonprofit organizations and half for a scholarship available to high school seniors. His campaign website is www.votebartoli.com.
