Rain is still predicted for the Wyoming Valley for the holiday weekend, but the chances have diminished slightly from earlier forecasts.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 58 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and overcast skies were reported.

Mostly cloudy skies will round out the workweek today, along with a 40 percent chance of scattered showers after 2p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and today’s high will be near 70.

Cloudy skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 54.

Saturday will once again bring mostly cloudy skies, along with a 30 percent chance of showers. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and the high will be near 73.

Cloudy skies will follow into Saturday night, along with a slight chance of showers before 9 p.m. The low will be around 56.

Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Sunday, along with scattered showers between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., then scattered thunderstorms after 3 p.m. The high will be near 72.

Sunday night will bring cloudy skies, along with scattered showers and thunderstorms before 9 p.m. Showers will then become likely after 9 p.m. The low will be around 58.

Memorial Day is expected to bring cloudy skies, along with showers likely before 9 a.m. The high will be near 75.

Partly cloudy skies are predicted for Monday night, along with a 50 percent chance of showers before 9 p.m. The low will be around 58.
