HERSHEY – Lake-Lehman’s Dominic Hockenbury picked up another win and Dallas turned in an impressive performance in Class AA boys when many of the best high school runners from around the state tested themselves on the Hershey Parkview Course at the PIAA Foundation Cross Country Invitational Meet Sept. 26.

Hockenbury won the individual title by 14 seconds over another District 2 runner when he finished the 3.1-mile course in 16:11 to beat out North Pocono’s Matt Kravitz to win the 146-entrant Blue Boys division race.

The Blue Boys division was made up of Class AA teams.

Dallas finished second out of 21 teams, placing behind only York Suburban, 71-119.

Sophomore Jack Zardecki finished in 17:01 to take fifth place and lead the Mountaineers.

Hockenbury won both the PIAA Foundation Meet and the PIAA Championships in 2014. This year’s Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association Cross Country Championships are scheduled for Nov. 7.

Lake-Lehman finished third in the team standings. Chris Sabol placed 23rd.

Dallas placed five runners in the top 44.

Jason Culp and Adam Borton were 20th and 21st, followed by Josh Wyandt in 34th and freshman Steven Postupak in 44th.

The Dallas girls, running without defending state champion Ally Rome, finished ninth out of 19 teams in the Blue race for Class AA teams.

Rebecca Balara was 14th out of 141 runners while Riley Oremus was 32nd.

Lake-Lehman was 10th, led by Jady Fry in 39th and Olivia Vasey in 47th.

Wyoming Seminary’s Kupsky sisters, Tara and Paige, finished 30th and 31st out of 156 in the White race for Class A girls. The Kupskys, who are Trucksville residents, helped Wyoming Seminary finish 13th out of 23 teams.
