Dallas swimmers earn wins during Stroudsburg Winter Swim Classic Jan. 9 at East Stroudsburg University

    Abby Zolner, Annalise Cheshire and Porter Luksic all won individual events and were part of winning relay teams to lead the Dallas teams to strong efforts at the Stroudsburg Winter Swim Classic Jan. 9 at East Stroudsburg University.

    Zolner and Cheshire led the girls team, which lost out on a potential team title to Archbishop Wood, 265-260.

    Luksic helped the boys finish third out of nine teams.

    Tunkhannock also competed in the event and Morgan Manglaviti had the biggest individual performance by a District 2 swimmer when she won both the 100-yard backstroke and 100 freestyle while finishing second in the 50 freestyle.

    Zolner, who won the 100 butterfly in 1:01.79, took second in the 200 individual medley. Cheshire, who won the 50 freestyle in 25.11 seconds, finished third in the 500 freestyle.

    Cheshire swam leadoff and Zolner anchor on winning 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams that also included Lauren Finnegan. Melinda Ratchford completed the 200 lineup and Madison Hurst the 400 lineup.

    Finnegan was second in the 100 freestyle. Hurst, in the 100 backstroke, and Krista Vivian, in the 200 IM, added third-place finishes.

    Luksic had first- and second-place finishes both individually and on relays. He won the 200 IM and was second in the 100 breaststroke. He joined Jared Krawetz and Mikail Krochta for a winning 400 freestyle relay and a second-place 200 medley relay.

    Tony Caravaggio completed the winning relay lineup and Troy Reinert was part of the second-place team in the 200 relay.

    Dallas got second-place finishes from Krawetz in both the 100 and 200 free and Krochta in the 100 backstroke. Krochta was also third in the 200 IM.

    The 200 freestyle relay team of Connor Motley, Caravaggio, Frank Weaver and Reinert placed third.

    Both Tunkhannock teams finished fourth.

    In addition to her individual efforts, Manglaviti anchored the second-place 400 freestyle relay team that included Gwen Murray, Megan Hayward and Anna Moffitt.

    Jacob Skoronski was third in the 200 free, 200 IM and 100 free along with as part of the 200 medley relay team.

    Mitch Fowler was third in the 100 back and 200 medley relay.

    Dyllan Henning and Alex Bushre were also part of the third-place relay team.
