February 2005

The Dallas girls basketball team trailed by seven points at halftime, but outscored Lake-Lehman 32-23 in the second half to pull out a Wyoming Valley Conference win.

Cory Patton and Melissa Gorski scored 17 points each for the Mountaineers, and accounted for all scoring from the field in the first half.

Lake-Lehman was led by Sheree Horvath’s 23 points.

February 1995

Lake-Lehman dropped to 1-4 in Wyoming Valley Conference boys basketball action with a 71-50 loss at the hands of first-place Meyers.

Tim Waslick, who led the WVC in scoring, scored a team-high 14 points. Tim Brislin and Tim Steltz chipped in with 11 points each.

February 1985

Glen Mazer rolled his first career 300 game at Bonomo’s Sports Center in Dallas. Mazer bowled on the Sweet Valley Outfittes team. He also achieved his first career 700 series.

Mazer’s accomplishment in league bowling was the first since Donald Purvin rolled a 300 in January 1966.

February 1975

Lake-Lehman’s boys basketball team split the week to stay in a tie for first place with GAR in the Wyoming Valley Conference.

Early in the week, GAR beat the Black Knights 95-69. However, Lake-Lehman responded with a 94-72 win over the West Side Titans.

Against GAR, Frank Bogdon scored a team-high 30 points, while Dan Yankowski chipped in 25 points. Against West Side, Bogdon scored 31 points.
