DALLAS TWP. – The Dallas girls swimming team officially repeated its Wyoming Valley Conference title in dominant fashion.

The Mountaineers clinched Tuesday with a 148-29 rout over visiting Meyers in which they won every event and also finished second in all but the closing 400-yard freestyle relay.

Annalise Cheshire and Lauren Finnegan led the way as Dallas improved to 11-0 with one meet remaining.

The win was the 30th straight in the conference for the team, which won last year’s title after finishing second in 2013-14 in the Southern Division in the conference’s old split format. Dallas last lost a WVC girls meet January 7, 2014 at Hazleton Area, the Southern Division champion that season.

Cheshire won the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke while joining Finnegan and Abby Zolner on the 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay wins.

In addition to the relays, Finnegan won the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke.

Zolner added a win in the 100 butterfly and a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle to the two relay wins.

Krista Vivian was also on the 200 medley relay and won the 100 freestyle. Melinda Ratchford was also on the 200 freestyle relay and won the 50 freestyle.

Joy Nave won the 50 freestyle and Lexi Spaciano won diving.

Katie Marmola, Lindsey Jorda, Ann Metzloff and Ann Clark won the 400 freestyle relay.

The title-clinching win came one day after Dallas suffered a 95-91, non-league loss to Bloomsburg.

Cheshire and Zolner each had an individual win and were on two winning relays against Bloomsburg.

The Dallas boys defeated Meyers, 128-27, to improve to 7-1 with one meet left. They beat Bloomsburg Monday, 112-57.

Jared Krawetz and Mikail Krochta each won two individual and two relay events in both Monday and Tuesday’s win.
