WILKES-BARRE – The next Old Shoe Rivalry game will be held Oct. 28 when Dallas visits Lake-Lehman in high school football.

Wyoming Valley Conference officials met at Patte’s Sports Bar Feb. 12 and approved a two-year football scheduling plan for all member schools, keeping the game between Back Mountain rivals in its traditional position on the final weekend of the regular season.

Lackawanna Football Conference schools approved the same set of schedules the previous day.

Both conferences needed new schedules after the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association’s fall decision to switch from four classifications to six beginning with the 2016 seasons. Conference officials took a cooperative approach in working out schedules that would give all District 2 schools 10 games while keeping them competing in or near their own class in as many of the games as possible.

Dallas and Tunkhannock will be in 4A, the third-largest of the six classes, based on enrollment. Lake-Lehman will in 3A.
