KINGSTON – Julia Baur of Shavertown, a senior at Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School and co-captain of the Blue Knights girls swim team, will continue her academic and athletic career at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove in the fall.

Baur will swim for Susquehanna’s head coach Jerry Foley in the NCAA Division III Landmark Conference. Since being named head coach of the women’s and men’s swim teams in June 2009, Foley has led the River Hawks to six straight Landmark Conference titles and in 2016 he and his staff received the conference’s Coaching Staff of the Year Award.

Baur, who specializes in freestyle and butterfly, has been swimming competitively for seven years. She is a member of the Blue Knights relay teams that broke several area pool records in 2015-16, including a 29-year-old 400 freestyle record set by Parkland High School during the Ray Wills Invitational at Wyoming Valley West.

Prior to competing with the Blue Knights, Baur swam for three years for the Lake Lehman Black Knights under Varsity Coach Nancy Edkins. She holds the Lake Lehman school record in the 100 free and the 100 fly. She also competed for four years with the Dallas Mountaineer Aquatics Club. In addition, she played youth and high school soccer for nine years as a member of various Back Mountain soccer teams and the Lake-Lehman soccer program, playing defense.
