Back Mountain athletes will play in Wyoming Valley Conference Baseball Senior All-Star Game July 7

The Back Mountain will be well represented in the Wyoming Valley Conference Baseball Senior All-Star Game, scheduled for Thursday, July 7 at the Mountain Post American Legion Field.

Three players from Dallas, two from Lake-Lehman and five from Tunkhannock will be on the West squad that will take on the East in the 5 p.m. game.

Lou DiPasquale will coach the West which will also include six of his players, along with players from Wyoming Valley West, Wyoming Area and Wyoming Seminary.

Dallas first baseman/pitcher Aaron Yurko will make his second all-star game appearance after driving in the only runs for the Wyoming Valley Conference in a 4-2 loss to the Lackawanna League in the Field of Dreams Game June 19 at PNC Field. Outfielder Ryan Martin and catcher David Simpson, who each had to miss the Field of Dreams Game after it was postponed and rescheduled, will join Yurko.

Yurko was a first-team Times Leader all-star.

Tyler Kolb and Tommy Williams will represent Lake-Lehman after combining to throw 3 1/3 scoreless innings for the WVC in the Field of Dreams Game.

Kolb was a second-team Times Leader all-star.

Tunkhannock’s Cody Brown will play in his second all-star game. He will be joined by teammates Lane Ceccarelli, Bob Gilpin, Brett Soltysiak and Brett Hughes.
