The Newberry Ladies’ Golf League held its annual ‘Pink Ball’ Tournament followed by a luncheon at Appletree Terrace on Aug. 1. A donation of $800, in memory of former president Nancy Silvi, was presented to Chris Ostrowski, director of Candy’s Place, The Center for Cancer Wellness in Forty Fort. Shown are the co-chairpersons of the event, Alice Niskey, Sheila McFadden and Nancy Brown, presenting the check to Ostrowski. Twenty-eight women participated in the captain and crew tournament. The winning team was composed of Mary Lou Evans, Inez Stefanko, Judy Schall and Jane Lloyd. Sharron Davis was Closest to the Pin and Peg Thomas was Closest to the Line.
