Ruslan Pryadun and Kelly Ciravolo led Back Mountain finishers in the 21st annual Steamtown Marathon.
Pryadun was the first Back Mountain man to finish the 26.2-mile road race from Forest City to downtown Scranton Oct. 9 while Ciravolo was the first woman.
Mike Adamshick joined Pryadun and Ciravolo in the top 100 out of 1,728 finishers.
Pryadun, a 36-year-old from Sweet Valley, finished 46th overall in 2:57:53.40. He was eighth out of 133 in the Male 35-39 Division.
Adamshick, 38, from Harveys Lake, was 10th in the Male 35-39 Division and 57th overall in 2:59:46.17.
Cirvavolo, 37, from Shavertown, was fifth out of all women in the field and 60th overall in 3:00:29.67.
Suleman Abrar Shifa, 23, from New York City, won in 2:17:30.04, beating four-time champion and three-time defending champion C. Fred Joslyn from Mount Holly Springs by more than nine minutes.
Caitlin Phillips from New York won the women’s title in 2:41:37.35.
Several Back Mountain runners finished high in their age groups.
Marjorie Adams was second of 36 in the Female 55-59 Division. The 57-year-old from Dallas was 621st overall in 3:49:25.97.
Joyce Foster was second of eight in the Female 60-64 Division. The 61-year-old from Dallas was 990th overall in 4:13.39.40.
Katherine Levandoski was fourth of 110 in the Female 25-29 Division. The 26-year-old from Dallas was 168th overall in 3:14:58.80.
Shari Philmeck from Tunkhannock was fourth of five in the Female 65-69 Division and 1624th overall in 5:28:49.20.
Myron Sidloski from Dallas was sixth of 20 in the Male 65-69 Division and 787th overall in 3:57:40.58.
Amanda Thompson from Dallas was ninth of 66 in the Female 24-Under Division and 441st overall in 3:37:53.90.
