DALLAS TWP. — Fourth grade students at Wycallis Elementary got their minds and bodies in motion before PSSA testing with a Zumba dance session on Tuesday, April 19.

The students perform the dances every morning of testing, according to teacher Nicole Valkenburg. She has led Zumba warm-ups with all of fourth grade for the past four years.

“I started off small with just my homeroom 10 years ago just warming up, and now we have the whole grade involved,” she said.

Valkenburg said the 10-minute morning sessions also feature guest dancers, including other faculty members and administrators.

PSSA testing will continue next week.
